ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

HWC-KENYA began as a volunteer grassroots initiative led by a team of young visionaries dedicated to supporting neglected children and vulnerable teenage girls in accessing education in Northern Kenya. The impact of these benevolent activities attracted more support, inspiring the vision to establish a formal organization that could operate legally, professionally, and in a coordinated manner. In 2022, HWC-KENYA was officially registered as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), and by 2024, it transitioned into a fully-fledged Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

HWC-Kenya is dedicated to complementing both National and County Government service delivery, particularly in regions that are historically underserved or hard to reach. The organization places a special emphasis on supporting communities in Arid and Semi-Arid Counties and other marginalized areas across Kenya, where access to essential services and resources remains a significant challenge.

Our Impact

For Every Woman & Child

OUR MISSION

To foster holistic transformation in communities by promoting justice, equity, resilience, and sustainability.

OUR VISION

We envision a society where every individual regardless of their background has equal access to opportunities and resources to live a dignified life.

Our Directors Message

“Through our #It’s Ok Not To Be Ok movement, we seek to transform how society understands and responds to mental health. We believe that mental health challenges are not a sign of weakness, a character flaw, or a personal failure. They are health conditions that deserve understanding, treatment, support, and compassion.

For too long, individuals experiencing mental health challenges have felt isolated, judged, or ignored. Many have been told to simply “be strong” when what they truly needed was someone willing to listen. At HWC-Kenya, we are committed to creating safe spaces where people can share their experiences without shame and seek support without fear”
