CPA, Thomas Muiruri Kiarie

Founder & Executive Director

Thomas M Kiarie founded Humanity for Women and Children in Kenya in 2020 and today works as an Executive Director. Following a successful banking career for over 5 years from 2014 to 2019 serving the underserved communities in North Eastern, his dream shifted focus to address regional education, gender inequality, healthcare and climate change crisis and helping vulnerable communities that lacked access to life threatening social services like health care, safe drinking water and sanitation and education. He is skilled in facilitating workshops, awareness campaigns, and advocacy efforts to raise consciousness on critical issues such as health, education, gender equality and environmental sustainability. Thomas efforts are deeply rooted in the principles of social justice, equity, and community-driven development.

Years of hard work, passion and purpose have shaped Humanity for Women and Children into what it is today, with a team and partners helping to bring the vision into life. HWC-Kenya has evolved into a comprehensive humanitarian organization advancing key human rights pillars, including access to justice, affordable education and healthcare, safe drinking water, access to equal opportunities for women and youths, disaster preparedness and response, climate justice, as well as promoting religious tolerance and peacebuilding

He has also worked with NGOs for over 5 years serving as a finance officer and programs and partnership officer implementing various UN funded projects in North Eastern, Kenya.

Thomas is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK) and holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce but has found his true passion in devoting his time to serving humanity.

Mary Wamuyu

Board chair

Mary Wamuyu is a dedicated community mobilizer known for her work in empowering and organizing communities to address social issues. With a strong passion for community development, she actively works on grassroots initiatives to bring about sustainable change. Mary engages with local populations, listens to their needs, and help them access resources or opportunities that improve their lives.

Her approach often involves creating platforms for dialogue, building trust, collaborating with various stakeholders such as local authorities, community leaders, County and National Government and other civil society organizations.

She is a teacher by profession and her enthusiasm in working with children is critical and aligns well with the organization pillars. 

Fredrick Onyango Adhaya

Board Member

Fredrick Adhaya is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in banking, education, and community engagement. He brings on board a wealth of knowledge in financial management, leadership, and grassroots community development, making him a valuable addition to the Board of Humanity for Women and Children in Kenya (HWC-Kenya).

Professionally trained as a banker, Fredrick has developed strong expertise in financial operations, customer relations, accountability, and organizational management. His experience in the banking sector has equipped him with practical skills in strategic planning, financial stewardship, and institutional growth.

In addition to his banking career, Fredrick has also served as a teacher, demonstrating his passion for mentorship, capacity building, and empowering individuals through education. His background in teaching has strengthened his communication, leadership, and people-centered approach to service.

Fredrick has notably served in Northern Eastern Kenya, where he worked closely with diverse communities and gained deep understanding of the socio-economic challenges affecting marginalized and underserved populations. Through his engagement with local communities, he has contributed to initiatives aimed at promoting social inclusion, community empowerment, and sustainable development.

His dedication to community service, integrity, and commitment to uplifting vulnerable populations aligns strongly with the mission and values of Humanity for Women and Children in Kenya (HWC-Kenya). As a Board Member, Fredrick Adhaya brings valuable insight, professionalism, and a strong passion for community transformation and humanitarian service.

Anthony Njoroge – Programs Coordinator

Anthony Njoroge serves as the Programs Coordinator at Humanity for Women and Children in Kenya (HWC-Kenya), where he provides strategic leadership in the design, implementation, and management of development and health programs.He holds a Master’s degree in Project Management and brings together a unique multidisciplinary background as both a trained psychologist and a medical practitioner. This combination enables him to integrate technical health expertise with a deep understanding of human behavior, community dynamics, and psychosocial support systems.

Anthony has over 12 years of extensive experience managing donor-funded programs, including projects supported by United Nations agencies, the Global Fund, and other international development partners. His work spans across public health programming, community-based interventions, and health systems strengthening, with a strong focus on delivering impactful, evidence-based solutions.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional capacity in program planning, grant management, stakeholder coordination, and compliance with donor requirements. He is particularly passionate about improving access to quality healthcare, advancing community resilience, and addressing social and structural barriers that affect vulnerable populations.

At HWC-Kenya, Anthony plays a key role in driving program excellence, ensuring accountability, and fostering partnerships that enhance the organization’s mission to empower communities and improve livelihoods.
